In conducting its functions, The National Biosafety Authority works in close collaboration with the following regulatory agencies as specified in the Biosafety Act. These institutions are also regulators as provided by the law that established them:

Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service (KEPHIS) | Provides inspection and monitoring services for plant health, agricultural input quality, and produce; implements GMO-related policies. |
National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) | Implements environmental policies, including environmental impact assessments for GMOs intended for environmental release. |
Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) | Focuses on biodiversity and biotechnology in wildlife and forestry-related matters. |
Kenya Industrial Property Institute (KIPI) | Handles intellectual property issues related to modern biotechnology. |
All these institutions perform regulatory roles in regard to relevant GMOs.
